The associations between infertility-related stress, family adaptability and family cohesion in infertile couples

Anjiang Lei et al.

Summary: The study found that women in infertile couples experience higher levels of overall stress compared to men, with women also scoring higher on desired family adaptability, cohesion dissatisfaction, and adaptive dissatisfaction. Men and women living in rural areas with lower education levels had higher infertility-related stress, with family cohesion and education level negatively correlated with stress in men, and family adaptability and education level negatively correlated with stress in women. Healthcare providers should pay more attention to and support infertile couples living in rural areas or with low education levels, and focus on the importance of family function and support in reducing infertility-related stress.
