Crosslinking-modulated direct-current conductivity of XLPE-PS composite via charge trap characteristics

Liang Cao et al.

Summary: This study examines the correlation between the DC conductivity and cross-linking characteristics of XLPE-polystyrene (PS) composites. The results show that by adjusting the cross-linking structure, different trap distribution characteristics were achieved, leading to changes in the DC conductivity and average trap depth of the composites. The increase in average trap depth was found to reduce carrier mobility and contribute to the decrease in DC conductivity. The interaction between PS particles and the matrix introduced by cross-linking is considered to play a dominant role in determining the charge conduction in XLPE-PS composites.

Polymer Nanocomposite Dielectrics: Understanding the Matrix/Particle Interface

Shaojie Wang et al.

Summary: Polymer nanocomposite dielectrics with exceptional electric properties are discussed in this critical overview. The role of the matrix/particle interface in determining the performance of these materials is emphasized. Various experimental strategies and characterization techniques for studying the local property-structure correlation of the interface are analyzed, with a focus on their unique capabilities. The limitations of each strategy are evaluated and compared, and future research directions are proposed.
