Progress in ultraviolet photodetectors based on II-VI group compound semiconductors

Jiang Wang et al.

Summary: Ultraviolet (UV) photodetectors (PDs) have wide applications and are crucial in modern optoelectronic devices and systems. II-VI group semiconductors are potential candidates for high-performance UVPD due to their wide bandgap and high exciton binding energy. This review comprehensively discusses the basic concepts and operation mechanisms of UVPDs and reviews the research status and techniques for enhancing performance of II-VI group semiconductor-based UVPDs.

Insight on the Stability of Thick Layers in 2D Ruddlesden-Popper and Dion-Jacobson Lead Iodide Perovskites

Eugenia S. Vasileiadou et al.

Summary: This study investigates the thermochemical properties of 2D hybrid organic-inorganic halide perovskites, revealing differences in enthalpy of formation between different series. Additionally, analysis of structural parameters and optical properties provides guiding principles for the targeted design and synthesis of 2D perovskites for efficient solar cell fabrication. Further stability studies on film samples indicate lower extrinsic stability of DJ materials in ambient air.

Investigation of Many-Body Exciton Recombination and Optical Anisotropy in Two-Dimensional Perovskites Having Different Layers with Alternating Cations in the Interlayer Space

Supriya Ghosh et al.

Summary: Increasing layers of ACI perovskites lead to more prominent multiple exciton recombination and less self-trapping of excitons. Optical anisotropy also increases with a greater number of inorganic layers. Among the three systems, ACI3 shows the most promise for photovoltaic and optical polarization devices.

Two-dimensional perovskites with alternating cations in the interlayer space for stable light-emitting diodes

Yiyue Zhang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates high-quality two-dimensional perovskite thin films with alternating cations, which provide stable semiconductor thin films for efficient near-infrared light-emitting diodes (LEDs). By varying the thickness of the interlayer spacer cation, highly efficient LEDs with tunable emission wavelengths are achieved, showing excellent operational stability. The best-performing device exhibits high external quantum efficiency and remains stable at high current densities, indicating the potential of this novel 2D perovskite as a promising and stable photonic emitter.
