Printed Copper Grid Transparent Conducting Electrodes for Organic Light-Emitting Diodes

Takeshi Kamijo et al.

Summary: The transparent conductive electrode (TCE) is an important component of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). This study explores the use of high-resolution printed metal grids as an alternative to indium tin oxide (ITO). By using a thick doped hole injection layer (HIL), electrical shorts can be prevented and high-quality OLEDs with acceptable leakage current can be achieved. The study also reveals that by using very fine pitch and narrow line width, the luminance of the copper (Cu) grid OLED can potentially match that of an ITO-based OLED.

High-Performance Transparent Copper Grid Electrodes Fabricated by Microcontact Lithography for Organic Photovoltaics

Philip Bellchambers et al.

Summary: This study introduces high-performance transparent copper grid electrodes that outperform conventional indium tin oxide electrodes for organic photovoltaic (OPV) applications. The fabrication method is cost-effective and efficient, with a faster process compared to conventional lithography. The ultra-narrow grid line spacing minimizes parasitic absorption losses, making it a promising solution for OPV devices.

High-Performance Transparent and Conductive Films with Fully Enclosed Metal Mesh

Bangbang Nie et al.

Summary: Researchers have demonstrated a new concept of transparent and conductive films by fully enclosing metal mesh within deep microcavities and coating with a conductive polymer layer, achieving high conductivity and transparency, electric field uniformity, and mechanical robustness. The fully enclosed metal mesh films exhibit excellent mechanical flexibility and significantly improve the emission intensity of alternating current electroluminescent devices.
