Robust tracking control of quadrotor via on-policy adaptive dynamic programming

Summary: This article presents a robust control algorithm based on super-twisting algorithm and adaptive dynamic programming for tracking control of quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with external disturbance. First, an adaptive terminal sliding mode disturbance observer is developed to estimate the external disturbance, followed by the construction of a super-twisting compensation controller to eliminate the effect of disturbance estimation error. Finally, a nominal controller using ADP method is applied to drive the system states convergence to zero. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through numerical simulations and experimental verification.

A combined backstepping and adaptive fuzzy PID approach for trajectory tracking of autonomous mobile robots

Summary: This paper proposes a combined backstepping and adaptive fuzzy PID approach for a nonholonomic autonomous mobile robot to follow the desired path. Two adaptive fuzzy PID controllers are used for velocity tracking and steering control at the dynamic control level, while backstepping control technique at the kinematic level eliminates pose deviations during trajectory tracking. The simulation results show that the proposed control system offers good performances in terms of small distance error, rapid response, high stability, and accurate trajectory tracking.
