Stratified thermosolutal Marangoni bioconvective flow of gyrotactic microorganisms in Williamson nanofluid

Rishi Raj Kairi et al.

Summary: This study highlights the influence of the Marangoni effect on the bioconvective flow of gyrotactic microorganisms in a non-Newtonian nanofluid flow over a permeable inclined plate in a stratified medium. The results show that increasing the Williamson fluid parameter leads to lower heat and mass transfer rates and density of motile microorganism gradient, while enhancing Marangoni convection increases these factors. Furthermore, the impact of Marangoni convection is more pronounced for smaller values of the Williamson fluid parameter.

Numerical study of two-phase turbulence nanofluid flow in a circular heatsink for cooling LEDs by changing their location and dimensions

Jawed Mustafa et al.

Summary: This article presents a simulation of the turbulent flow of alumina/water nanofluid in a heatsink using the finite element method. The study focuses on the cooling of LEDs using a circular heatsink, with multiple LEDs placed under the heatsink. By varying the distance between the LEDs, the connection part dimensions, and the inlet velocity of the nanofluid, the heatsink temperature and the outlet temperature of the nanofluid are determined. The results show that changing the nanofluid velocity has the greatest impact on the heatsink's average temperature.

Nurul Amira Zainal et al.

Summary: The aim of this study is to investigate the flow behavior of the Al2O3-Cu/H2O hybrid nanofluid over a stretching/shrinking sheet, taking into account Arrhenius kinetics and thermal radiation. A novel mathematical model for the hybrid nanofluid is proposed, considering multiple effects that have not been addressed in prior literature. The findings show the existence of dual solutions within the defined ranges of physical parameters, and the hybrid nanofluid exhibits enhanced heat transfer performance compared to viscous flow and nanofluid flow.

MHD opposing flow of Cu- TiO2 hybrid nanofluid under an exponentially stretching/shrinking surface embedded in porous media with heat source and slip impacts

A'isyah Jaafar et al.

Summary: This study investigates the flow and heat transfer characteristics of Cu-TiO2/water hybrid nanofluid under the presence of magnetohydrodynamics, heat source, and slip conditions, with the addition of porous media. The complex governing equations were transformed into ODEs using a similarity transformation, and the numerical results were obtained using the MATLAB bvp4c function. It was found that Cu-Al2O3/water exhibited slightly higher heat transfer rate compared to Cu-TiO2/water. The Cu-TiO2/water hybrid nanofluid showed a 4.04% improvement in heat transfer compared to water, while Cu/water nanofluid enhanced heat transfer by 2.13%. Dual solutions were found, and stability analysis confirmed the stability of the upper branch solution. The MHD and permeability parameter accelerated skin friction, while the volume fraction of copper nanoparticles increased the heat transfer rate of Cu-TiO2/water hybrid nanofluid.

Summary: This article develops a system of PDEs related to the simultaneous transport of heat and species in Maxwell fluid with mono and hybrid nano particles, using the generalized laws of Fourier and Fick based on thermal and solutal relaxation times. The developed PDEs are solved numerically using the finite element method. The simulations reveal that the thermal and concentration relaxation memory effects reduce the boundary layer thickness, and the simultaneous dispersion of copper and aluminium oxide improves heat transfer.

K. Mahmud et al.

Summary: In this research, the effects of Hall and ion-slip on oblique stagnation point flow of magneto hydrodynamics Casson nanofluid with Newtonian heating and zero heat and mass on an elastic surface are discussed. The governing equations are transformed into a system of non-linear ODEs using similarity transformation and solved numerically using the Runge-Kutta Fehlberg method. The results show the influence of physical constraints on the velocity, temperature, and nanoparticles' concentration. Skin friction quantities, heat and mass flux are measured numerically. The study reveals the dominant influence of the magnetic field parameter on temperature and concentration of nanoparticles far away from the surface.
