Bond behavior of recycled aggregate concrete-filled steel tube after elevated temperatures

Zongping Chen et al.

Summary: This paper experimentally investigated the interfacial bond behavior of recycled aggregate concrete-filled steel tubes after different temperatures and discussed the influences and mechanism of temperature, mass replacement percentage of recycled coarse aggregate, and cross-section shape on bond behavior. More accurate prediction formulas for bond strength and analytical models for bond stress-slip relationships were proposed.

Experimental investigation of bond-slip stress of cold-formed CFSTs stub-columns in a post fire based on four cycles push out tests

Morteza Naghipour et al.

Summary: This research investigates the effect of shear studs and their connection configuration on the performance of square concrete-filled steel tube stub-columns. The results indicate that the use of shear studs increases the lateral stiffness, axial compressive strength, and bond stress of the columns. The bond between concrete and steel is weakened at temperatures below 500 degrees Celsius, but at temperatures of 500 and 750 degrees Celsius, the friction between steel and concrete is increased, enhancing the loading capacity of the cross-section.

Bond-slip behavior between high-strength steel tube and Ultra-high Performance Concrete

Xuan Cao et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of concrete strength, length-to-diameter ratio, and diameter-to-thickness ratio on the interfacial bond-slip performance of Ultra-high Performance Concrete Filled High-Strength Steel Tube (UHPC-FHSST) through push-out tests. The results show that the bond strength between the high-strength steel tube and the UHPC core is increased by decreasing the diameter-to-thickness ratio and the length-to-diameter ratio, while increasing the concrete strength decreases the bond strength.

Structural behavior of prestressed self-compacting concrete-encased concrete-filled steel tubes beams

Zohreh Rahmani et al.

Summary: The study introduced a novel concept of prestressed concrete-encased CFST beams to improve concrete compressive strength and control crack in the tension zone. Experimental results showed that prestressed strands enhanced the confinement effect on core concrete and structural performance, while steel tubes increased bearing capacity and energy absorption in beams.

Bond behavior of lightweight concrete-filled steel tubes containing rock wool waste after exposure to high temperatures

Amirreza Bahrami et al.

Summary: This study investigated the bond behavior of lightweight concrete-filled steel tubes containing rock wool waste at elevated temperatures. The findings showed that rock wool waste could compensate for the loss of bond strength in LCFT specimens under high temperature conditions.
