Finite-time convergence of perturbed nonlinear systems using adaptive barrier-function nonsingular sliding mode control with experimental validation

Omid Mofid et al.

Summary: In this study, an adaptive barrier procedure is combined with the nonsingular sliding mode control (SMC) technique to achieve fast stabilization of a nonlinear system with external disturbances. The proposed method allows for fast convergence of state errors to a region near the origin, eliminating the need for knowledge of upper bounds of exterior perturbations. The stability analysis confirms the quick convergence of error states to a predetermined region. Case study on a mass-spring system demonstrates the effectiveness of the planned method.

A fault diagnosis method for underwater thruster based on RFR-SVM

Zhenzhong Chu et al.

Summary: In this paper, a fault diagnosis method for underwater thruster based on RFR and SVM is proposed. It addresses the problem of insufficient fault diagnosis accuracy caused by the imbalance between normal samples and fault samples. The method uses data argumentation based on RFR and feature extraction using tsfresh package and KPCA, and trains a thruster fault diagnosis model using SVM. Experimental results in a pool environment validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Adaptive Nonsingular Terminal Sliding Mode Control for Performance Improvement of Perturbed Nonlinear Systems

Khalid A. Alattas et al.

Summary: In this study, an adaptive nonsingular terminal sliding mode control technique is designed for the performance improvement and robust stability of nonlinear systems with outdoor disturbances. A novel nonlinear sliding surface is presented, and a non-singular terminal sliding control scheme is advised for the purpose of finite-time stability. The barrier function adaptive technique is employed to estimate the unknown upper bounds of the exterior disturbance for improved system performance. The recommended control method is investigated based on simulation results.

Robust Position Control of an Over-actuated Underwater Vehicle under Model Uncertainties and Ocean Current Effects Using Dynamic Sliding Mode Surface and Optimal Allocation Control

Mai The Vu et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the nonlinear dynamics and robust positioning control of underwater vehicles under the influence of ocean currents and model uncertainties. It establishes motion equations, trajectory generation methods, and proposes a dynamic positioning control system based on dynamic sliding mode control theory. Through simulation studies, it is shown that the proposed controller using the quadratic programming algorithm provides higher stability, smaller steady-state error, and stronger robustness.

Discrete-time modified repetitive sliding mode control for uncertain linear systems

Edi Kurniawan et al.

Summary: This article presents a design strategy and stability analysis of a modified repetitive sliding mode controller for uncertain linear systems. The method combines a modified repetitive controller with a discrete-time sliding mode controller to achieve accurate tracking of reference signals and rejection of disturbances with fast transient response. Stability analysis shows that the closed-loop system remains stable even in the presence of plant parameter changes.

Fast Terminal Sliding Control of Underactuated Robotic Systems Based on Disturbance Observer with Experimental Validation

Thaned Rojsiraphisal et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel fast terminal sliding mode control technique based on the disturbance observer is recommended for the stabilization of underactuated robotic systems. The finite time disturbance observer is employed to estimate the exterior disturbances of the system and develop the finite time control law. The proposed controller can regulate the state trajectories of the underactuated systems to the origin within a finite time in the existence of external disturbances.

An Adaptive RBF-NMPC Architecture for Trajectory Tracking Control of Underwater Vehicles

Zhenzhong Chu et al.

Summary: An adaptive control algorithm based on RBF neural network and nonlinear model predictive control is proposed for underwater vehicle trajectory tracking. The algorithm utilizes an improved Levenberg-Marquardt-error surface compensation in offline phase and adaptive gray wolf optimization in real-time control phase, showing superior performance compared to linear model predictive control. Simulation results demonstrate at least 43% and 25% improvement in tracking performance with and without interference, respectively.
