Plasma arc welding-brazing of aluminum to copper with SiO2 nanoparticles strengthening

Summary: In this study, dissimilar metals T2 copper and 1060 aluminum alloys were welded using plasma arc welding-brazing method with the addition of SiO2 nanoparticles. The results show that SiO2 nanoparticles can improve the microstructure of the weld joint, inhibit the growth of IMC layer, and enhance the strength of the weld joint.
