Mesoporous molecular sieve-based materials for catalytic oxidation of VOC: A review

Wei Gao et al.

Summary: This review focuses on the recent development of mesoporous molecular sieve supported metal catalysts and their application in catalytic oxidation of VOCs. The effects of active component types, support structure, preparation method, and precursors on the performance of catalysts are discussed, and the conversion route of VOCs is addressed. The findings provide guidance for designing VOCs removal catalysts with high activity and stability.

Immobilization of laccase onto functionalized ionic liquid-modified mesoporous silica SBA-15

Hong Zhang et al.

Summary: By immobilizing enzymes on functionalized ionic liquid-modified mesoporous molecular sieves, the stability and activity of the enzymes can be significantly improved. The laccase immobilized on C-1/BF4-SBA-15 exhibited the best performance in terms of stability and activity.

External mean flow effect on sound transmission through composite sandwich structures filled with porous materials

Junqing Gong et al.

Summary: A theoretical model is developed to investigate the influence of external mean flow on sound transmission loss through composite sandwich panels filled with porous materials. The model is validated through comparisons with existing theoretical and experimental results, achieving overall agreements. The systematic investigation explores the influences of external mean flow, incidence angle, and laminate scheme on the coincidence frequency and sound transmission loss of the sandwich structures.

Characterization of H4SiW12O40 supported on mesoporous silica (SBA-15), non-structured amorphous silica and γ-alumina

Kiria Kojima et al.

Summary: The study showed that the HSiW·6H2O crystals loaded on SBA-15 and AEROSIL had weak secondary interactions with adjacent silanol groups, while destruction of Keggin units occurred on Al2O3. Furthermore, the IR method can be used to quantify the Bronsted and Lewis acid sites in the loaded HSiW·6H2O.

β-Cyclodextrin functionalized SBA-15 via amide linkage as a super adsorbent for rapid removal of methyl blue

Dongli Li et al.

Summary: The ordered mesoporous silica SBA-15 functionalized with beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CD) via amide linkage efficiently removes bulky aqueous organic dye methyl blue (MB) from water. Characterization of the surface properties of the resulting beta-CD-functionalized adsorbents (SBA15-A-CD) shows uniform modification of SBA-15 channels with amine groups and beta-CD-termination via amide linkages. The enhanced adsorption capacity for MB is attributed to tailored host-guest interactions and electrostatic attractions between functional groups.

High-performance magnetite nanoparticles catalyst for biodiesel production: Immobilization of 12-tungstophosphoric acid on SBA-15 works effectively

Pingbo Zhang et al.

Summary: Magnetic mesoporous solid acid catalysts, modified by two different methods, exhibited ordered mesoporous structure and excellent paramagnetic properties, leading to high catalytic activity in the transesterification of palm oil with methanol for biodiesel production. Particularly, the catalyst prepared by the grafting method showed excellent reusability with over 80% biodiesel yield after 6 cycles, demonstrating promising industrial application prospects.
