Effects of different nitrogen doses on thymoquinone and fatty acid composition in seed oil of black cumin (Nigella sativa L.)

Isa Telci et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of different nitrogen doses on black cumin seed oil yield, thymoquinone ratio/yield, and fatty acid compositions. Results showed that nitrogen doses significantly affected oil and thymoquinone yields, with the highest oil yield obtained from 80 kg/ha nitrogen doses and the highest thymoquinone yield from control plots. Nitrogen doses above 60-80 kg/ha should be avoided for optimal seed oil and thymoquinone yields in black cumin.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the impact of different genotypes on yield, yield components, and quality parameters of black cumin. Results showed significant differences among genotypes in all parameters examined, with "Çameli", Hatay, and Diyarbakir genotypes having higher seed and fixed oil yields.
