Pharmacokinetics of esomeprazole in goats (Capra aegagrus hircus) after intravenous and subcutaneous administration

Rachel Fladung et al.

Summary: This study aimed to estimate the pharmacokinetic parameters of esomeprazole in adult goats and found that the drug was rapidly eliminated from the plasma. The sulfone metabolite of esomeprazole was also detected and rapidly eliminated. Further pharmacodynamic investigations are needed to determine the efficacy of esomeprazole in suppressing gastric acid in goats.

Abomasal ulcers: Do ranitidine or omeprazole prevent phenylbutazone-induced lesions in sheep?

Aline Alberti Morgado et al.

Summary: This study aimed to test the preventive effects of ranitidine and omeprazole on abomasal ulcer development in sheep treated with a high dosage of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. The results showed that intravenous omeprazole caused adverse effects and was not effective in preventing ulcers, while intravenous ranitidine significantly reduced the occurrence of ulcers.

Pharmacokinetics of Pantoprazole and Pantoprazole Sulfone in Goats After Intravenous Administration: A Preliminary Report

Joe S. Smith et al.

Summary: This study aimed to estimate the pharmacokinetic parameters of pantoprazole in adult goats, finding a lower clearance rate and shorter elimination half-life compared to other species. Further pharmacodynamic studies are needed to determine the efficacy of pantoprazole on acid suppression in goats.
