Evolutionary Comparison of the Complete Chloroplast Genomes in Convallaria Species and Phylogenetic Study of Asparagaceae

Qi-Xiang Lu et al.

Summary: The study reported the complete chloroplast genome sequences of three Convallaria species, providing valuable insights into their phylogenetic relationships. The genomes showed high similarity in size and gene content, with variations in length due to IR/LSC border contraction/expansion. A/T mononucleotides were identified as the most abundant simple sequence repeats (SSRs). Three highly variable regions were found to be valuable molecular markers. Phylogenetic analysis supported the monophyly of Convallaria within the Asparagaceae family.

Pollen morphology of Liliaceae and its systematic significance

Ziming Hu et al.

Summary: The pollen morphology of various species in the family Liliaceae was studied in detail, revealing the importance of polar view, colpus morphology, and surface ornamentation in systematic classification. The study suggests revisions in the classification of certain genera based on the results.
