Physics-based, data-driven approach for predicting natural ventilation of residential high-rise buildings

Vincent J. L. Gan et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel model developed based on physics-based modelling and a data-driven approach to evaluate natural ventilation in residential high-rise buildings. The study found that the fusion algorithm-based neural network achieved the highest accuracy of 96% among all models tested. Data-driven models showed higher accuracy compared to physics-based models.

Comparative analysis on predictability of natural ventilation rate based on machine learning algorithms

Hansaem Park et al.

Summary: The study investigated predictive models of NV rate through machine learning algorithms, with deep neural network showing the best performance. Influential features affecting the predictive models included pressure difference, outdoor temperature, wind speed, indoor relative humidity, solar radiation, indoor/outdoor humidity difference, and wind direction, contributing to the development of intelligent NV systems. Future work should focus on developing optimal operating strategies for hybrid ventilation systems integrating NV and mechanical systems.
