MXene-derived anatase-TiO2/rutile-TiO2/In2O3 heterojunctions toward efficient hydrogen evolution

Wenxiang Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, TiO2/In2O3 heterojunction photocatalysts were successfully designed and synthesized through heterojunction engineering, which significantly improved the photocatalytic efficiency for H-2 evolution. The enhanced performance can be attributed to the MXene-derived porous multilayer-like nanostructures that provide more reactive sites, as well as the formation of type-II semiconductor heterojunctions between anatase TiO2, rutile TiO2, and In2O3, promoting charge separation.

MXene-derived anatase-TiO2/rutile-TiO2/In2O3 heterojunctions toward efficient hydrogen evolution

Wenxiang Yang et al.

Summary: In this study, a TiO2/In2O3 heterojunction photocatalyst was rationally designed to exhibit significantly enhanced photocatalytic H-2 evolution, attributed to the porous multilayer-like nanostructures providing more reactive sites and accelerating carrier transfer, as well as the formation of two type-II semiconductor heterojunctions among anatase TiO2, rutile TiO2 and In2O3.
