Public knowledge, practices, and awareness of antibiotics and antibiotic resistance in Myanmar: The first national mobile phone panel survey

Summary: This survey assessed the knowledge, practices, and awareness of antibiotics and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) among adults in Myanmar. The results revealed significant gaps in knowledge and awareness, as well as misuse of antibiotics among the general population. Continuous public education and awareness campaigns are urgently needed to address these gaps and promote antibiotic stewardship.

Non-prescribed antibiotic use for children at community levels in low- and middle-income countries: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Summary: This study aimed to estimate the proportion of non-prescribed antibiotic use among children in low- and middle-income countries at the community level. The results showed that nearly half of the children in community settings used antibiotics without a prescription. Retail drug outlets were the primary access points for non-prescribed antibiotic use.
