A bioinspired antibacterial and photothermal membrane for stable and durable clean water remediation

A novel magnetic CuFeAl-LDO catalyst for efficient degradation of tetrabromobisphenol a in water

Toxicity assessment indicated that the Cu1Fe0.5Al0.5-LDO/PMS system effectively reduced the harm and risk of TBBPA to the overall environment. These findings suggest a possible novel approach for the degradation of brominated phenolic organic pollutants in actual water using the Cu1Fe0.5Al0.5-LDO/PMS system.

Summary: A porous 3D superstructure of nitrogen-doped carbon decorated with ultrafine cobalt nanodots was prepared and showed excellent catalytic performance towards the degradation of sulfonamides. The catalytic mechanism of Co@NCSS/PMS for sulfamethoxazole degradation was proposed based on experimental and computational analysis. This material has the potential to be an ideal candidate for removing antibiotics from wastewater.

Efficient degradation of tetracycline by singlet oxygen-dominated peroxymonosulfate activation with magnetic nitrogen-doped porous carbon

The results showed that the directional assembly of metal oxide nanoparticles induced by CNTs resulted in the formation of a highly efficient catalyst, and the doping of Cu species further enhanced the utilization of PMS. Three degradation pathways of BTA were proposed, and the toxicity changes of intermediates were evaluated.

Oxygen vacancies-enriched Cu/Co bimetallic oxides catalysts for high-efficiency peroxymonosulfate activation to degrade TC: Insight into the increase of Cu+ triggered by Co doping

Summary: Bimetallic CuCo-doped graphene-like carbon nanosheets (CuCo@GCNs) were synthesized using agarose as carbon templates for the degradation of tetracycline (TC) via activating peroxymonosulfate (PMS). The CuCo@GCNs/PMS system exhibited excellent TC removal efficiency, unaffected by different water matrices and applicable to a wide pH range. Both radical and non-radical pathways contributed to the catalytic oxidation of TC, and the mechanism of PMS activation on the surface of CuCo@GCNs was revealed. The synergistic effect of the CuCo bimetal enhanced PMS activation and the generation of oxygen vacancies (O(V)s), further enhancing the performance of TC degradation.

This work offers a novel perspective for the activation of peroxides by defective materials without additional energy supply or aqueous transition metal ions.
