Transcriptomic Analysis of E. coli after Exposure to a Sublethal Concentration of Hydrogen Peroxide Revealed a Coordinated Up-Regulation of the Cysteine Biosynthesis Pathway

Myriam Roth et al.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of sublethal hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) concentration on gene expression in E. coli. It was found that H2O2 exposure led to specific antioxidant and general stress responses, but did not significantly affect bacterial survival.

Reciprocal Regulation of Shh Trafficking and H2O2 Levels via a Noncanonical BOC-Rac1 Pathway

Marion Thauvin et al.

Summary: Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) has recently emerged as a central molecule that links environment, cell metabolism, and cell signaling. This study reveals that H2O2 levels play a crucial role in the delivery of the morphogen Sonic hedgehog (Shh), impacting its secretion, endocytosis, and distribution. Additionally, a feedback loop exists between Shh trafficking and H2O2 synthesis. These findings provide molecular insights into the robustness of morphogenesis.

H2O2 and Ca2+ Signaling Crosstalk Counteracts ABA to Induce Seed Germination

Mengjie Cheng et al.

Summary: This study reveals the interaction between H2O2 and Ca2+ in seed germination and the mechanism of regulating the balance between ABA and GA(3). H2O2 induces Ca2+ influx, which increases H2O2 accumulation and forms a positive-regulatory loop to promote seed germination under ABA stress.
