Visual/Photoelectrochemical Off-On Sensor Based on Cu/Mn Double-Doped CeO2 and Branched Sheet Embedded Cu2O/CuO Nanocubes

Summary: An integrated dual-signal bioassay was developed for ultrasensitive detection of thrombin. This method combined visualization with photoelectrochemical technique to achieve the detection. The bioassay demonstrated wide linear ranges, high selectivity, stability, and reproducibility under optimized conditions. Additionally, the proposed visual/photoelectrochemical transduction mechanism platform offered a lower background signal and more reliable detection results, providing an effective way for detecting other proteins and nucleic acids.

Photoluminescence and lifetime studies of C-dot decorated CdS/ZnFe2O4 composite designed for photoelectrochemical applications

Summary: Materials for biomedical applications often need to be coated to enhance their performance, such as their biocompatibility, antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties, or to assist the regeneration process and influence cell adhesion. Chitosan, a naturally available substance, meets these criteria. Plasma treatment is an effective solution for altering the surface of synthetic polymer materials to ensure interaction with chitosan. This review focuses on plasma methods for surface modification of polymers to improve chitosan immobilization, including direct and indirect immobilization approaches.

Coupling Ni-substituted polyoxometalate catalysts with water-soluble CdSe quantum dots for ultraefficient photogeneration of hydrogen under visible light

Summary: This study reports a water-compatible, robust, and ultraefficient hydrogen-evolving system by coupling water-soluble CdSe light-absorbers with Ni-POM catalysts and AA electron donor. The catalytic system exhibits superior and robust hydrogen production activity among known semiconductor/POM hybrids, with confirmed molecular stability of Ni-POM catalysts under turnover conditions. The exceptional performance of the catalytic system is attributed to the synergistic cooperation between CdSe light-absorber, Ni-POM catalyst, and AA electron donor.

Keggin-type SiW12 encapsulated in MIL-101(Cr) as efficient heterogeneous photocatalysts for nitrogen fixation reaction

Summary: The incorporation of polyoxometalates (POMs) in metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with host-guest structure has been proven as an effective strategy for the rational design of heterogeneous catalysis. In this study, composite catalysts of Keggin-type POM@MIL-101(Cr) (PMo12, PW12, and SiW12) were synthesized for the first time for nitrogen fixation reaction without sacrificial agents at room temperature. The performance of the solvothermal synthesized catalyst was 75.56 lmol·h-1·g-1 Na4SiW12O40, attributed to the synergistic effect of SiW12 and MIL-101(Cr). This work provides a feasible route for designing and synthesizing nanocomposite materials with exceptional performance for photocatalytic nitrogen fixation.

Flexible and Transparent Triboelectric Nanogenerators Based on Polyoxometalate-Modified Polydimethylsiloxane Composite Films for Harvesting Biomechanical Energy

The study also demonstrates the potential application of Mo-TENG in wearable self-powered devices.

Robust LSPR Sensing Using Thermally Embedded Au Nanoparticles in Glass Substrates
