Impact of cobalt incorporation on the mineralization of calcium phosphate

Summary: Hydroxyapatite has significant biological activity, degradability, and osteoconductivity, but also has limitations in terms of mechanical properties, particle size and morphology issues, and brittleness. This article summarizes the challenges and research progress in the fields of dentistry, anti-tumour drug carriers, and orthopaedic repair, providing a theoretical basis for future studies.

Selenium-modified calcium phosphate cement can accelerate bone regeneration of osteoporotic bone defect

Summary: The study demonstrated that local administration of selenium with calcium phosphate cement enhanced the therapeutic effect in treating osteoporotic bone defects. The Se-CPC group showed the strongest effect on bone regeneration and mineralization compared to the CPC group and the OVX group. This effect may be achieved by inhibiting local oxidative stress and through the OPG/RANKL signaling pathway.
