Effect of local changes in the composition of the LiNb1-xTaxO3 single crystal on the Raman spectra

Artemii Irzhak et al.

Summary: This paper presents the results of studying the effect of local changes in the composition of the LiNb1-xTaxO3 single crystal on the Raman spectra. It was found that Nb atoms partially replace Li vacancies, and the contribution of a change in the crystal composition to a change in the Raman spectra was determined using statistical analysis and principal component analysis. The found principal components correctly predict the shift of the Raman lines during the transition of crystal composition.

Tuning domain wall conductivity in bulk lithium niobate by uniaxial stress

Ekta Singh et al.

Summary: The paper investigates the effect of uniaxial stress on the conductivity of domain walls in single crystal lithium niobate. An asymmetry in conductivity of domain walls was observed, with negatively screened walls becoming more conductive while positively screened walls showed a decrease in conductivity. Furthermore, smaller compressive stresses were found to increase the current in domain walls.

Seeing Is Believing-In-Depth Analysis by Co-Imaging of Periodically-Poled X-Cut Lithium Niobate Thin Films

Sven Reitzig et al.

Summary: Nonlinear and quantum optical devices based on periodically-poled thin film lithium niobate (PP-TFLN) have shown improved performance compared to bulk counterparts, with parameters such as conversion efficiency depending on the quality of domain structures in samples. This study suggests combining imaging techniques like PFM, SHG, and RS for in-depth analysis of sample properties, indicating SHG as the most suitable imaging technique for studying domain poling processes in PP-TFLNs. Unexpectedly large signs for internal fields in x-cut PP-TFLNs compared to bulk LN were observed, highlighting the importance of quality control and thorough analysis in domain structures.
