A Non-Uniform Offset Algorithm for Milling Toolpath Generation Based on Boolean Operations

Giuseppe Venturini et al.

Summary: The algorithm presented in this work is useful for advanced toolpath definition in milling operations with non-uniform machining allowance. It utilizes a general algorithm for non-uniform offset of polyline curves based on 2D polygons and Boolean union operation. The algorithm is able to handle both internal and external offset and has been proven robust through examples and applications in thin-wall milling.

Efficiency of Fungicide Application an Using an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and Pneumatic Sprayer for Control of Hemileia vastatrix and Cercospora coffeicola in Mountain Coffee Crops

Edney Leandro da Vitoria et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of spray droplet deposition using a UAV in coffee crops grown in mountain regions and its association with the control of fungal diseases. Water-sensitive paper tags were used to analyze the application efficiency, while agronomic efficiency, vegetative vigor, yield, and physiological parameters were used to determine fungicide efficacy. The results show that the deposition rate of the UAV was lower (6.98%) compared to the pneumatic sprayer (28.70%), indicating that fungal disease control through fungicide application using a UAV is effective for mountain coffee crops.

Airflow characteristics of rotorcraft plant protection UAV operating in rice fields

Gangao Fan et al.

Summary: This paper examines the effects of rotorcraft unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on rice crops and proposes a method of acquiring images and processing them to obtain characteristic information in rice fields. The study investigates the impact of three factors (take-off mass, flying height, and flight speed) on four indices (trailing distance, trailing stability, area, and shape of the rice vortex) through orthogonal experiments. The results indicate that flight speed, flight altitude, and take-off mass have different influences on the trailing distance, stability, area, and shape of the vortex. Analysis of the airflow targets reveals the relationship between vortex characteristics and rice vortex stability, providing a basis for further development of flight parameter-airflow target-application effect models.

Numerical Simulation and Analysis of Droplet Drift Motion under Different Wind Speed Environments of Single-Rotor Plant Protection UAVs

Juan Wang et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the droplet deposition drift pattern of the 3WQF120-12 single-rotor plant protection UAV in China using a combination of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and wind tunnel experiments. The Pearson correlation analysis showed a strong correlation between experimental and simulated values, with multiple correlation coefficients above 0.89. The recommended flight conditions for the UAV were a height of 1-3 m, a speed below 3 m/s, and an ambient wind speed within 3 m/s.

Influence of the Downwash Wind Field of Plant Protection UAV on Droplet Deposition Distribution Characteristics at Different Flight Heights

Yubin Lan et al.

Summary: The study found that the downwash wind field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) shows significant differences at different flight heights, with a notable impact on droplet deposition. Increasing flight height leads to changes in the downwash wind field, affecting droplet deposition distribution and reducing deposition in the effective spray area.
