Presence of Anaplasma spp. and Their Associated Antibodies in the Swedish Goat Population

Sara Lysholm et al.

Summary: This study investigated the presence of Anaplasma bacteria and associated antibodies in a subset of the Swedish goat population. The results showed that 1 out of 40 goats tested positive for the presence of genetic material from the bacteria, and 33% of the serum samples contained antibodies for anaplasmosis. These findings indicate that anaplasmosis is widespread in certain areas of Sweden's goat population.

Human Granulocytic Anaplasmosis-A Systematic Review of Published Cases

Igor Dumic et al.

Summary: This study analyzed case reports and case series of Anaplasma phagocytophilum infection, finding that infected patients commonly present with fever, constitutional symptoms, and gastrointestinal symptoms, with laboratory abnormalities commonly seen in coagulation and liver function. Treatment mainly involved the use of doxycycline, but delayed therapy may impact patient outcomes.

Zoonotic ecotype-I of Anaplasma phagocytophilum in sympatric wildcat, pine marten and red squirrel - Short communication

Sandor Hornok et al.

Summary: This study used molecular methods to analyze samples from 18 wild-living mammals and found zoonotic ecotype-I of Anaplasma phagocytophilum in multiple species. These results indicate that taxonomically diverse mammalian species can maintain the local enzootic cycle of the same genotype of A. phagocytophilum.

Seasonal Investigation of Anaplasma marginale Infection in Pakistani Cattle Reveals Hematological and Biochemical Changes, Multiple Associated Risk Factors and msp5 Gene Conservation

Muhammad Asif et al.

Summary: This study reports the seasonal prevalence, potential risk factors, and phylogeny of Anaplasma marginale in cattle of different breeds in Southern Punjab, Pakistan. The highest prevalence rate was observed in autumn, and crossbred and Sahiwal cattle were the most susceptible to infection. The genetic analysis showed high conservation of the msp5 gene among isolates from different regions.
