Taxonomic study on the genus Stenochironomus Kieffer from the Baishanzu Nature Reserve, China (Diptera, Chironomidae)

Chao Song et al.

Summary: During a biodiversity survey in Baishanzu Nature Reserve, China, from July to September 2020, five taxa/species of Stenochironomus were identified, including two undescribed species and one newly reported species. The study described and illustrated the male adults of the two new species and provided an updated key to known male adults of Stenochironomus in China. The study also confirmed the distinctiveness of the new species based on COI barcodes.

Quantitative imagery analysis of spot patterns for the three-haplogroup classification of Triatoma dimidiata (Latreille, 1811) (Hemiptera: Reduviidae), an important vector of Chagas disease

Daryl D. Cruz et al.

Summary: The study found that the spot pattern on the dorsal region can be reliably used to distinguish among the three T. dimidiata haplogroups in Mexico, and possibly among triatomine species.

Minimalist revision and description of 403 new species in 11 subfamilies of Costa Rican braconid parasitoid wasps, including host records for 219 species

Michael J. Sharkey et al.

Summary: This paper describes three new genera and provides keys for the classification of 416 species in certain braconid subfamilies in the New World. Species are diagnosed using a consensus sequence of COI barcodes and essential information on holotype specimens is included.
