An Ordinary State-Based Peridynamic Model of Unidirectional Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer Material in the Cutting Process

Jiaqi Qi et al.

Summary: This study presents an ordinary state-based peridynamic (OSB-PD) model for analyzing the machining process of carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP). The model overcomes the limitations of fiber angle by using angle tolerance and simulates the cutting tool and workpiece contact using the short-range force approach. The effectiveness of the model is validated through tension and cutting tests, and it is capable of predicting machined surface damage and cutting force.

Large deformation analysis of functionally graded beam with variable cross-section by using peridynamic differential operator

Zhiyuan Li et al.

Summary: A non-local numerical model for large deformation analysis of functionally graded beam with variable cross-section is presented using peridynamic differential operator. The nonlinear equilibrium equation and boundary condition are reformulated into non-local integral form. The method is applied to homogeneous beam and two FGBs with different lower surfaces, investigating the effects of geometric size and material gradient on mechanical behavior. Validation with finite element results shows convergence and accuracy.

Nonlocal steady-state thermoelastic analysis of functionally graded materials by using peridynamic differential operator

Zhiyuan Li et al.

Summary: This study proposes a nonlocal model for the steady-state thermoelastic analysis of functionally graded materials using Peridynamic differential operator. The displacement-temperature equations and boundary conditions are converted into nonlocal integral forms, and the fields are solved with Lagrange multiplier and variational analysis. Validation of the model is performed by comparing results with finite element analysis and analytical solutions, and the effects of material gradients and loads on FGM plates are investigated with the Mori-Tanaka method. Finally, the influence of nonlocality on stress singularity at crack tips in FGM plates is analyzed.

Numerical solutions for linear ordinary differential equation with variable coefficients using Haar wavelet method

Waleeda Swaidan et al.

Summary: Wavelet analysis has been developed as a mathematical tool for various problems, with the numerical technique in this paper based on Haar wavelet collocation points and operational matrices. A new operational matrix of integration for Haar wavelets functions has been established, and the approach has been demonstrated with three numerical examples involving first order differential equations with variable coefficients. Results show that increasing the resolution of Haar wavelets can enhance the accuracy of the variable.

A Singularly P-Stable Multi-Derivative Predictor Method for the Numerical Solution of Second-Order Ordinary Differential Equations

Ali Shokri et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a symmetric eight-step predictor method of 10th order for numerical integration of second-order ordinary differential equations. The method has variable coefficients and can serve as a predictor stage for other implicit schemes. Demonstrating singular P-stability and applying it to problems like the Mathieu equation, the method shows advantages in efficiency and consistency compared to other methods of the same order.

Mohamed A. Abd El Salam et al.

Summary: This work introduces a numerical technique for solving general nonlinear ordinary differential equations using rational Chebyshev functions for matrix discretization. The technique effectively transforms the problem into a system of nonlinear algebraic equations and is able to handle boundary conditions with independent variables that may tend to infinity.
