A novel experimental study on inhibition of asphaltene deposition

Reza Salehi Nezhad et al.

Summary: In this study, the impacts of various effective parameters and inhibitors on asphaltene deposition rate were investigated. The abilities of SDS, Triton X-100, and salicylic acid in reducing asphaltene deposition were evaluated. The experiments showed that SDS performed better than salicylic acid and Triton X-100. Furthermore, the effect of SDS concentration on the rate of deposition was studied, revealing that an increase in SDS concentration decreased the rate of asphaltene deposition. This study can serve as a helpful tool for petroleum engineers dealing with asphaltene deposition problems.

Development of a new chemical solvent package for increasing the asphaltene removal performance under static and dynamic conditions

Azizollah Khormali et al.

Summary: TPMDS is an effective solvent package for asphaltene removal, showing high efficiency in various oil samples and reducing pressure drop in carbonate core samples. It also significantly improves rock permeability and does not decrease in performance even with an increase in asphaltene precipitation.

Static and dynamic evaluation of a novel solution path on asphaltene deposition and drag reduction in flowlines: An experimental study*

Reza Amiri et al.

Summary: The research team developed a multifunctional additive, AUT-Force 110, for the first time, which has been proven effective in dispersing and removing asphaltene deposited on metal surfaces, changing the adsorption mechanism of asphaltene on metal surfaces. The additive can increase the content of iron and other metal elements in acidic and basic asphaltenes by altering the electrostatic properties of metal powder surfaces.

An effective asphaltene precipitation modeling approach using PC-SAFT with detailed fluid descriptions for gas injection conditions

Farzaneh Nazari et al.

Summary: Fluid characterization is crucial for identifying the properties of crude oil and equilibrium conditions. A detailed characterization method proposed in this study effectively predicts Asphaltene instability conditions, leading to lower estimation errors and capturing the actual trend of bubble and Asphaltene onset curves. This approach proves to be reliable for predicting instability conditions.
