A triple-classification for the evaluation of lung nodules manifesting as pure ground-glass sign: a CT-based radiomic analysis

Ziyang Yu et al.

Summary: This study constructed a noninvasive radiomics model to evaluate the pathological degree and individualized treatment strategy for patients with ground glass nodules (GGNs) on CT images. The study found that by extracting radiomics features from both intratumoral and peritumoral regions, a triple classification model achieved satisfactory performance in classifying and evaluating GGNs.

Assessing the Impact of the Absence of Detrusor Muscle in Ta Low-grade Urothelial Carcinoma of the Bladder on Recurrence-free Survival

Riccardo Mastroianni et al.

Summary: This study assessed the impact of absence of detrusor muscle (DM) in transurethral resection of bladder tumor specimen on the recurrence-free survival in patients with Ta low-grade urothelial carcinoma of the bladder. The results showed that the absence of DM has no impact on tumor recurrence for this type of disease.

Summary: Every year, the American Cancer Society projects the numbers of new cancer cases and deaths in the United States, with the latest data showing a significant decline in lung cancer mortality, while prostate cancer mortality has plateaued and breast and colorectal cancer mortality have slowed. Improvements in treatment have accelerated progress against lung cancer, leading to a record drop in overall cancer mortality.

A CT-based radiomics nomogram for predicting early recurrence in patients with high-grade serous ovarian cancer

Hui-zhu Chen et al.

Summary: The study developed and validated a radiomics nomogram for predicting early recurrence in patients with high-grade serous ovarian cancer. By combining a radiomics model with clinical risk factors, the nomogram was able to differentiate between high-risk and low-risk patients with good predictive performance.

Integrating multiparametric MRI radiomics features and the Vesical Imaging-Reporting and Data System (VI-RADS) for bladder cancer grading

Zongtai Zheng et al.

Summary: The study aimed to construct a radiomics-clinical nomogram for preoperatively differentiating high-grade from low-grade bladder cancer. Results showed that the radiomics-clinical nomogram incorporating radiomics features with VI-RADS score demonstrated good diagnostic power in both the training and validation sets.

Vesical Imaging Reporting and Data System (VI-RADS): Are the individual MRI sequences equivalent in diagnostic performance of high grade NMIBC and MIBC?

Jasmin Gmeiner et al.

Summary: The overall VIRADS score has a high diagnostic accuracy for diagnosing high-grade and muscle-invasive bladder cancer, with T2w VIRADS score contributing independently to the diagnosis. The study suggests that multiparametric MRI parameters provide overlapping information and a biparametric, contrast-free image acquisition may be considered for clinical simplicity without sacrificing diagnostic accuracy.
