Enhancement of performance of Ga incorporated ZnO UV photodetectors prepared by simplified two step chemical solution process

Summary: This study establishes the UV photodetector capability of Zinc Oxide (ZnO) and Gallium-incorporated ZnO (GZO) thin films prepared by a simplified two-step chemical bath deposition technique. The study characterizes the prepared UV detectors and investigates their properties using various analytical tools. The results show that Ga doping improves the crystallinity of the films and enhances their absorption of UV light. The study also calculates the photo-detectivity, responsivity, and external quantum efficiency of the UV detectors, demonstrating the potential of GZO films as sensitive UV detectors.

Development of a highly sensitive and portable particulate matter SAW sensor and interface electronics

Summary: In this study, a highly sensitive and portable surface acoustic wave (SAW)-based PM2.5 sensor and its interface electronics were developed for real-time monitoring of air quality. The sensors used two 2-port SAW resonators to eliminate environmental disturbances on the sensor output. Experimental data showed that a center frequency of 180 MHz exhibited the largest frequency shift when exposed to PM2.5, suggesting it to be the optimal center frequency for operating a PM2.5-based SAW sensor.

Development of Highly Sensitive and Stable Surface Acoustic Wave-Based Hydrogen Sensor and Its Interface Electronics

Summary: A surface acoustic wave (SAW)-based hydrogen sensor and its interface electronics were developed for measuring hydrogen concentration in air at room temperature. The sensor employed a beehive-configured and Cu-doped SnO2 nanostructure as the hydrogen-sensitive material, which exhibited high sensitivity and selectivity. The sensor showed a significant response to hydrogen gas due to acoustoelectric interaction, and the response was enhanced by Cu-doping in SnO2.
