Cell Type-Specific Anti-Adhesion Properties of Peritoneal Cell Treatment with Plasma-Activated Media (PAM)

Summary: This study analyzed the use of plasma-activated media (PAM) as a therapeutic option to regulate cell type-specific proliferation and protein biosynthesis, thereby preventing pathological cell responses in the context of wound healing disorders. The results showed that PAM treatment had cell type-specific molecular responses, leading to growth retardation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis in peritoneal fibroblasts, while maintaining the anti-adhesive potential of peritoneal mesothelial cells. Additionally, PAM treatment reduced the expression and secretion of pro-adhesive cytokines and extracellular matrix proteins in peritoneal fibroblasts.

The effects of neutral argon plasma versus electrocoagulation on tissue in advanced-stage ovarian cancer: a case series

Summary: This study compared the histological depth of thermal damage between neutral argon plasma and electrocoagulation devices in cytoreductive surgery for advanced-stage ovarian cancer. The results showed that neutral argon plasma caused significantly less thermal damage compared to electrocoagulation. Therefore, it can be considered as a safe alternative in achieving cytoreductive surgery.

Summary: The synthesized PPHE polymeric nanoparticles showed superior targeting ability and photodynamic therapy activity on CaSki cells, particularly in the PDT/CAP combinatory treatment, which more effectively inhibited cervical cancer cell growth by inducing intracellular reactive oxygen species generation and apoptotic cell death. The results indicate that the PDT/CAP combinatory treatment using PPHE is a highly effective new therapeutic modality for cervical cancer.
