Heat shock proteins and cancer: The FoxM1 connection

Zahra Alimardan et al.

Summary: Heat shock proteins (Hsps), including Hsp70, Hsp90, and small Hsps, and the transcription factor FoxM1, have important roles in carcinogenesis. Hsp70 functions in cancer initiation and protein folding, and is overexpressed in human cancers. It also interacts with cochaperones and regulates the FoxM1 signaling pathway. FoxM1 is overexpressed in most human cancers and is involved in various cancer-related processes. This review covers the structure, function, and inhibitors of Hsp70, Hsp90, and FoxM1.

The chaperone system in cancer therapies: Hsp90

Charbel A. Basset et al.

Summary: The chaperone system is composed of various molecules and receptors that exist throughout the body and play important roles in protecting cells and tissues. In the case of salivary glands, studying the quantitative and distribution patterns of chaperones can provide valuable information for differential diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment development for tumors. Hsp90, a specific chaperone, has been found to promote tumor growth and metastasis and inhibitors targeting this protein show promise as potential anti-cancer agents.

The Chaperone System in Salivary Glands: Hsp90 Prospects for Differential Diagnosis and Treatment of Malignant Tumors

Charbel A. Basset et al.

Summary: Salivary gland tumors are a significant medical issue and new methods for diagnosis and treatment are needed. Molecular chaperones, particularly Hsp10 and Hsp90, show potential as biomarkers and targets for therapy. Recent research suggests that the quantity and localization patterns of Hsp90 in tissue can differentiate between benign and malignant tumors. The Hsp90 inhibitor Ganetespib exhibits cytotoxic effects on salivary gland tumors and may be a promising candidate for future treatment experimentation.
