Risk models for recurrence and survival after kidney cancer: a systematic review

Juliet A. Usher-Smith et al.

Summary: This study systematically compared the performance of different prognostic models in predicting survival or recurrence in patients with localized renal cell cancer who underwent surgery. The study found that several models had good discriminative ability, and there was no single "best" model. When choosing a model, both the comparative performance and the availability of factors included in the model should be considered.

Summary: The study aimed to construct a competitive risk model to predict cancer-specific survival in elderly patients with chromophobe renal cell carcinoma. The model showed good accuracy and reliability in predicting patients' survival outcomes.

GRade, Age, Nodes, and Tumor (GRANT) compared with Leibovich score to predict survival in localized renal cell carcinoma: A nationwide study

Simon Juul et al.

Summary: This study validated the performance of the GRade, Age, Nodes, and Tumor score and Leibovich score in predicting disease recurrence in clear cell and non-clear cell renal cell carcinoma. The Leibovich score outperformed the GRade, Age, Nodes, and Tumor score in predicting recurrence-free survival and should be used as the standard approach to risk stratify patients during follow-up when all data are available.

The 2022 World Health Organization Classification of Tumours of the Urinary System and Male Genital Organs-Part A: Renal, Penile, and Testicular Tumours

Holger Moch et al.

Summary: The fifth edition of the WHO classification of urogenital tumours has made significant revisions, including the introduction of molecular-driven renal tumour classification and simplification of the morphologic classification of penile squamous cell carcinomas. A new chapter has also been added for tumours of the scrotum. The main nomenclature for testicular tumours remains the same, but there have been changes in some terms.

Nomograms-based prediction of overall and cancer-specific survivals for patients with chromophobe renal cell carcinoma

Chunyang Chen et al.

Summary: This study built and tested two effective nomograms for predicting cancer-specific survival and overall survival of chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (chRCC) patients. The nomograms were validated to be highly accurate and applicable, showing higher accuracy in predicting survival outcomes when compared with traditional staging systems.
