Roles of the tissue-type plasminogen activator in immune response

Celia Seillier et al.

Summary: tPA is a serine protease that plays a crucial role in fibrinolysis and immune processes. It has the potential to regulate inflammatory diseases and has functions in adaptive immunity, particularly in T cells and antigen presenting cells.

Safety of pediatric cerebral angiography

David C. Lauzier et al.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed 587 consecutive cerebral angiography procedures in 390 children and evaluated the incidence and risk factors of complications. The results showed that pediatric cerebral angiography has a low rate of major or permanent complications. Female sex and a history of hypertension or ischemic stroke were identified as risk factors for complications.

Depletion of Arg/Abl2 improves endothelial cell adhesion and prevents vascular leak during inflammation

Joana Amado-Azevedo et al.

Summary: The kinase Arg/Abl2 has been identified as a mediator of endothelial barrier disruption. Depletion of Arg in endothelial cells resulted in activation of RhoA and Rac1, increased cell spreading and elongation, and redistribution of integrin-dependent cell-matrix adhesions. In vivo, genetic deletion of Arg diminished vascular leak in the skin and lungs, suggesting therapeutic inhibition of Arg may be a feasible strategy for treating conditions characterized by vascular leak.
