Facile Peroxidation of Cyclohexane Catalysed by In Situ Generated Triazole-Functionalised Schiff Base Copper Complexes

Nasir S. Lawal et al.

Summary: A set of facile room temperature catalytic systems were developed for the oxidation of cyclohexane C-H bonds using triazole-functionalised Schiff base copper complexes. The copper catalysts yielded high conversions to oxidised products with varying ratios of cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone. The kinetics study revealed an activation energy of 12.29 +/- 2 kJ/mol following a copper initiated radical mechanism.

Non-heme iron coordination complexes for alkane oxidation using hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) as powerful oxidant

Ambica Kejriwal

Summary: This contribution summarizes the non-heme, iron-catalyzed alkane oxidation with emphasis on selectivity by introducing steric, chiral substituents on ligand architecture using hydrogen peroxide as the oxygen source. The experimental findings of catalytically active species during catalytic turnover and the mechanism of the reaction are depicted.

Improved Mechanochemical Fabrication of Copper(II) Oxide Nanoparticles with Low E-Factor. Efficient Catalytic Activity for Nitroarene Reduction in Aqueous Medium

Aline Lucchesi Schio et al.

Summary: Copper(II) oxide nanoparticles are widely used in various fields, and synthesizing CuONPs through mechanochemical milling under dry conditions proves to be an efficient and environmentally friendly method for high yield preparation of nanoparticles. The CuONPs showed quasispherical morphology with an average size of 7.84 +/- 2.08 nm, and exhibited catalytic activity for nitroarene reduction in aqueous medium with high conversion and selectivity rates. Additionally, the catalyst can be reused multiple times without significant decrease in catalytic activity.
