A review of the Hirmeriellaceae (Cheirolepidiaceae) wood

Frederic Thevenard et al.

Summary: The Hirmeriellaceae is an extinct family of Mesozoic conifers with limited knowledge about its wood anatomy due to the scarcity of fossils connected to mature secondary xylem. This study reviews the available evidence of wood and reproductive structure connections as well as associations within Mesozoic rocks. The findings suggest that there is a privileged link between Braclryoxylon and the Himeriellaceae, although it is not exclusive.
