Strain-Rate Sensitive Deformation Behavior under Tension and Compression of Al0.3CrFeCoNiMo0.2

Lisa-Marie Rymer et al.

Summary: The study focused on the strain-rate sensitive deformation behavior of a sintered Al- and Mo-modified CrFeCoNi high-entropy alloy. The microstructure after sintering was found to be very low in porosity and composed of a sigma phase and a fine-grained FCC matrix, with another secondary phase rich in Al and Ni. Tensile and compression tests at different strain rates showed strain-rate sensitive deformation behavior, with a noticeable increase in strain hardening rate at higher strain rates and under compressive loading.

The additive manufacture processing and machinability of CrMnFeCoNi high entropy alloy

Przemyslaw Litwa et al.

Summary: The study found that the CrMnFeCoNi alloy has better machinability than the AISI 304L stainless steel, likely due to its plastic behavior, moderate strength, and significant ductility. This suggests that alloys with good machinability can be found in the class of High Entropy Alloys, and early assessment of machinability can guide alloy design activities.
