Synthesis and low temperature methane sensing performance of Pd modified In2O3 microspheres

Yan Wang et al.

Summary: This paper investigated the methane gas sensing performance of Pd/In2O3 composites prepared by solvothermal method. The synthesized materials were characterized by XRD, FESEM, TEM, EDS, and XPS. The results showed that 6.0 at% Pd/In2O3 microspheres exhibited better gas sensing performance to CH4 compared to pure In2O3. The sensor based on 6.0 at% Pd/In2O3 showed a low detection limit, good selectivity, reproducibility, and long-term stability. The enhanced sensing performance was mainly attributed to the chemical catalysis and spillover effects of Pd nanoparticles, as well as the Schottky Barrier between Pd and In2O3.

Ultrasensitive gas sensor based on nanocube In2O3-CNH composite at low operating temperature

Ming Zhou et al.

Summary: In2O3/CNH nanocomposites with different CNH concentrations were prepared via a facile solvothermal route, and their H2S sensing performance was tested. The optimal composition was found to be In2O3/CNH (2 wt%) with a sensor signal close to 3000 at an operating temperature of 70 degrees C for 2ppm H2S, showing excellent selectivity, low humidity impact, good reproducibility, and stability. The superior sensor performance is attributed to the formation of a p-n junction between CNH and In2O3, resulting in increased surface band bending and sensor response.
