Outdoor Channel Modeling at D-Band Frequencies for Future Fixed Wireless Access Applications

Brecht De Beelde et al.

Summary: Fixed wireless access networks at millimeter wave frequencies provide an alternative to fiber-optic installations for high-throughput Internet connectivity. This study presents outdoor channel measurements at D-band frequencies, contributing to the design of future fixed wireless access networks. The findings show that the angular path loss is higher in non-line-of-sight scenarios compared to line-of-sight scenarios, and building reflection loss affects signal transmission significantly.

Terahertz Wireless Communications: Co-Sharing for Terrestrial and Satellite Systems Above 100 GHz

Yunchou Xing et al.

Summary: The letter demonstrates how spectrum up to 1 THz will support mobile communications beyond 5G in the coming decades. The measurements at 140 GHz show the natural isolation between terrestrial networks and surrogate satellite systems, suggesting minimal interference at frequencies above 100 GHz with proper radiation control.

Millimeter Wave and Terahertz Urban Microcell Propagation Measurements and Models

Yunchou Xing et al.

Summary: This letter presents comparisons of outdoor Urban Microcell (UMi) large-scale path loss models, RMS delay spreads (DS), angular spreads (AS), and the number of spatial beams at different frequencies. It was found that path loss exponents are similar across frequencies, while RMS DS and AS decrease with increasing frequency. This implies that wider bandwidth channels at sub-THz or THz frequencies will cover similar distances due to the quadratic increase in antenna gains with frequency.
