The role and therapeutic potential of Hsp90, Hsp70, and smaller heat shock proteins in peripheral and central neuropathies

Subhabrata Chaudhury et al.

Summary: Heat shock proteins (Hsps) act as molecular chaperones and are involved in the activation of the heat shock response (HSR) to counter abnormal physiological conditions and stress, potentially helping in conditions such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. Cellular stress results in the upregulation of Hsp70 transcription to protect cells, with Hsp90 being the primary regulator of the HSR and a potential target for therapeutic interventions in neuropathies.

Climate change and thermo-solar patterns of office buildings with/without window films in extreme hot-arid climate of Kuwait

Ahmad Sedaghat et al.

Summary: This research aims to use window film to regulate indoor temperature and humidity in office buildings to mitigate the impact of climate change. By collecting data and building models, it was found that offices with window films have increased indoor humidity and reduced temperature, leading to a significant decrease in cooling loads. Simulation results show the energy saved and reduced CO2 footprints by applying solar window films in buildings.

Retinal Stem Cell 'Retirement Plans': Growth, Regulation and Species Adaptations in the Retinal Ciliary Marginal Zone

Amanda Miles et al.

Summary: The vertebrate retina develops from specified precursor cells that generate lineages of neural retina, retinal pigmented epithelium, or ciliary body. In some species, proliferative stem-cell-like cells located at the peripheral margin, possibly representing a conserved retinal stem cell niche, continuously supply new retinal cells post-embryonically. This review highlights the research characterizing similar stem-like cells across different species and discusses their role in regulating retinal growth and plasticity.

Poultry Response to Heat Stress: Its Physiological, Metabolic, and Genetic Implications on Meat Production and Quality Including Strategies to Improve Broiler Production in a Warming World

Ali H. Nawaz et al.

Summary: The continuous growth in poultry production to meet demand and provide food security has been affected by heat stress, leading the poultry industry to adopt environmental strategies. However, these solutions are costly and not sustainable, with heat stress causing slowed growth and deteriorating meat quality.
