Diagnostic accuracy of automated occlusion detection in CT angiography using e-CTA

Fatih Seker et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of e-CTA in automatically detecting large vessel occlusions in anterior circulation stroke. The results showed that e-CTA performs similarly to less experienced physicians in detecting any large vessel occlusions, but is comparable to experienced physicians in detecting proximal large vessel occlusions.

Accuracy of Automated Computer-Aided Diagnosis for Stroke Imaging: A Critical Evaluation of Current Evidence

Joanna M. Wardlaw et al.

Summary: There is a growing interest in using artificial intelligence in computer applications for medical imaging diagnosis, particularly in stroke. The use of AI methods can help in quickly and accurately diagnosing acute brain pathology, guiding treatment decisions, and improving treatment outcomes. However, diagnostic tools including AI methods are not subjected to the same clinical evaluation standards as drugs.

Comparison of automated ASPECTS, large vessel occlusion detection and CTP analysis provided by Brainomix and RapidAI in patients with suspected ischaemic stroke

Dermot H. Mallon et al.

Summary: The study found a high correlation between the CTP outputs from Brainomix and RapidAI, but there were differences in mechanical thrombectomy eligibility. Decisions regarding mechanical thrombectomy should not be based solely on imaging parameters.
