Polarization-insensitive and absorption-tunable ultra-broadband terahertz metamaterial absorbers based on multiple resonant rings

Zian Li et al.

Summary: This study designed a polarization-insensitive and absorption-tunable ultra-broadband terahertz metamaterial absorber. By analyzing the distribution of electric field and surface current, the mechanism of perfect absorption was explained. After optimizing the structural parameters, an average absorptance of 95.1% in the frequency range of 1.33 to 2.43 THz was achieved.

Wideband frequency tunable metamaterial absorber by splicing multiple tuning ranges

Tianlong Wu et al.

Summary: The band-splicing strategy proposed in this study greatly extends the tunable bandwidth of MMAs based on CSRs with varactors. By splitting the CSRs into multiple segments and adjusting varactors bridged by PIN diodes, the absorption frequency can be continuously tuned in a pre-set range, demonstrating expandability. Additionally, simulation results show a much wider bandwidth can be achieved using this strategy.
