Emission reduction characteristics of after-treatment system on natural gas engine: Effects of platinum group metal loadings and ratios

Yedi Ren et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of PGM loadings and ratios on the emission characteristics of a heavy-duty natural gas engine using six different three-way catalysts. The results showed that optimizing catalyst parameters should consider NOx emissions as the most important factor. PGM ratio can significantly affect total emissions and peak emissions distribution, while PGM loading has minimal impact on total emissions.
