Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps is a prevalent condition that has significant implications for both patients and society. The development of biologic medications has proven to be effective in treating this condition, leading to improvements in patient outcomes and quality of life. This review examines the treatment options and explores the available evidence regarding patient selection, monitoring after treatment initiation, and comparisons with other treatment options such as sinus surgery.
Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps affects a significant portion of the worldwide population. This illness is associated with several chronic conditions and has an important impact on patient quality of life, leading to a great societal economic burden. In recent years, biologic medications have been developed and found to be effective in the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps. This review focuses on these treatment options and their ability to improve patient outcomes, including quality of life.
