Composition-Related Dielectric, Ferroelectric and Electrocaloric Properties of Pb5Ge3O11 Single Crystals Modified by Ba Ions

Magdalena Krupska-Klimczak et al.

Summary: In this study, the ferroelectric properties of Pb5Ge3O11 single crystals modified by Ba ions were investigated. The measurements showed that Ba doping significantly affected all the measured parameters, resulting in the lowering of Curie temperature, gradual diffusion of phase transition, and decrease in polarization values and coercive field. The overall electrocaloric effect (ECE) decreased due to the reduction in polarization. However, the expanded range of phase transition occurrence (up to 30 K) could be beneficial for applications.

Scheelite-type BaMoO4 and BaWO4 based dye sensitized photocatalytic hydrogen evolution by water splitting

Gizem Yanalak et al.

Summary: The study focused on investigating photocatalytic hydrogen evolution using BaMoO4 and BaWO4 catalysts, revealing that BaMoO4 has a higher initial hydrogen evolution rate while BaWO4 displays more stable activity for hydrogen evolution. The proposed mechanism of dye-sensitized photocatalytic hydrogen evolution is elucidated through optical and electrochemical properties data.

Effect of Sr Deficiency on Electrical Conductivity of Yb-Doped Strontium Zirconate

Adelya Khaliullina et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of Sr-deficiency on the microstructure, phase composition, and electrical conductivity of SrxZr0.95Yb0.05O3-delta. It is found that Sr stoichiometry influences the electrical conductivity, with the highest conductivity observed for the x = 0.98 composition. The conductivity of the samples with x = 0.96-1.00 also increases with humidity, indicating the contribution of protonic defects to charge transport.

Summary: This study focuses on the dielectric properties of BaMoO4 ceramic and BaMoO4-CTO composites in the microwave region. The addition of 20% CTO to BaMoO4 resulted in a composite with desirable relative dielectric permittivity and low dielectric loss. These materials can be used as dielectric resonator antennas.

Zakaria Chchiyai et al.

Summary: In this study, ceramics with perovskite structure of compositions Ba1-xBixTi1-xFexO3 were synthesized and characterized using various techniques. The increase of BiFeO3 content led to two phase transitions, UV-vis absorption spectra revealed electronic transitions, and impedance results suggested the contribution of grain boundary to total conductivity.

Summary: The present study investigates the effect of Nd3+ substitution on the structural, dielectric, and energy storage properties of Ba2NaNb5O15 ceramics. It was found that increasing the amount of Nd in the ceramics led to an increase in the dielectric constant. The optimal discharge density was observed for the composition x = 0.7.

Summary: The data curation practices of the Crystallography Open Database (COD) are described in this article, with a focus on formal validation using the Crystallographic Information Framework (CIF). The cif_validate program, capable of validating CIF files against both DDL1 and DDLm dictionaries, is presented and used to process the entire COD. Validation results from over 450000 CIF files are shown to be a valuable resource in data maintenance and ontology development, along with a set of programs intended to aid in dictionary migration from DDL1 to DDLm.
