Multi-reactive mesogen system for polymer-stabilised vertical alignment liquid crystal displays

Simon Mundinger et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that the new binary reactive mesogen system performs at the same high level as the industry standard in terms of PS-VA, and meets high industry requirements in terms of reliability parameters. Furthermore, the advantage of this new system lies in its adaptability to new liquid crystal hosts and UV-B RM design.

Optical Filter with Large Angular Dependence of Transmittance Using Liquid Crystal Devices

Kohki Takatoh et al.

Summary: The study presents a new type of optical device that allows for variable transmittance based on the incident angle direction. By using liquid crystal devices with a half-wave plate, control of p- and s-waves can be achieved, resulting in a wide range of transmittances without the use of polarizers. The proposed LCDs have diverse applications, such as on buildings, vehicles, and glasses.
