Highly Sensitive and Selective Detection of Formaldehyde via Bio-Electrocatalysis over Aldehyde Dehydrogenase

Yinuo Zhang et al.

Summary: Formaldehyde is a prominent indoor pollutant that causes health-related problems. Current detection methods are limited by volatile organic chemical interference. This study presents a highly sensitive and selective method for formaldehyde detection based on aldehyde dehydrogenases. The method shows a broad detection range and low detection limit, with higher specificity compared to standard spectrophotometry.
