Local metabolic response of Escherichia coli to the module genetic perturbations in L-methionine biosynthetic pathway

Zhen-Yang Shen et al.

Summary: This study investigates the metabolic response and crucial genes in the biosynthetic pathway of iota-methionine. The relationship between different pathways and their controlling forces on metabolic flux are also examined. The findings provide insights into the biosynthesis of iota-methionine and offer a new research method for synthesizing other metabolic products in multilevel regulated and multibranched biosynthetic pathways.

Effects of in ovo feeding of disaccharide and/or methionine on hatchability, growth performance, blood hematology, and serum antioxidant parameters in geese

De Xin Dang et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of in ovo injection of disaccharide (DS) and/or methionine (Met) on hatchability, growth performance, blood hematology, and serum antioxidant parameters in geese. The results showed that in ovo injection of DS increased hatching time and carcass weight, while in ovo injection of Met increased hatching time and carcass indexes. Furthermore, the combination of DS and Met injection had a synergistic effect on hatching time and post-hatching body weight and average daily gain in geese.

High-level production of L-homoserine using a non-induced, non-auxotrophic Escherichia coli chassis through metabolic engineering

Yu Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, a high-efficiency Escherichia coli strain capable of producing 60.1 g/L L-homoserine was constructed, achieving the highest fermentative production efficiency of L-homoserine to date. By dynamically attenuating the L-homoserine degradation pathway and employing systems metabolic engineering strategies, the production yield of L-homoserine was significantly increased. This engineered strain can be further applied for scale-up production of L-homoserine and its derivatives.
