Design of an Integrated Bell-State Analyzer on a Thin-Film Lithium Niobate Platform

Uday Saha et al.

Summary: This paper presents the design of a photonic Bell-state analyzer on a reconfigurable thin-film lithium niobate platform for polarization-encoded qubits. The optimized device achieves high fidelity entanglement between trapped ions and has potential applications in trapped ion quantum computing and other optically active spin qubits.

State Readout of a Trapped Ion Qubit Using a Trap-Integrated Superconducting Photon Detector

S. L. Todaro et al.

Summary: In this experiment, high-fidelity state readout of a trapped ion qubit was reported using a trap-integrated photon detector. The average readout fidelity is 0.9991(1), with a mean readout duration of 46 mu s. The readout fidelity is limited by the polarization impurity of the readout laser beam and by off-resonant optical pumping.

Deterministic spin-photon entanglement from a trapped ion in a fiber Fabry-Perot cavity

Pascal Kobel et al.

Summary: This research has achieved deterministic quantum entanglement with high fidelity between a trapped ion and a photon emitted into the resonator mode. The success probability for generation and detection of entanglement for a single shot is 2.5 x 10(-3), resulting in an entanglement rate of 62 Hz.

On-chip electro-optic frequency shifters and beam splitters

Yaowen Hu et al.

Summary: Efficient and tunable electro-optic frequency shifters controlled by continuous and single-tone microwaves are achieved through engineering the coupling between optical modes in ultralow-loss waveguides and resonators in lithium niobate nanophotonics. The devices provide high frequency shifts up to 28 gigahertz with an on-chip conversion efficiency of approximately 90%, and can be reconfigured as tunable frequency-domain beam splitters.
