Relationship between infrared thermography and muscle damage markers in physically active men after plyometric exercise

Paulo Vitor Alburquerque Santana et al.

Summary: Plyometric training can effectively improve jumping ability and explosive strength in sports and fitness programs. This study aimed to assess the response of infrared thermography measurement as an indirect marker of muscle damage after plyometric jumps. The results showed that plyometric jumps induced muscle damage and altered thigh's skin temperature significantly.

Infrared Thermography in Wound Care, Surgery, and Sports Medicine: A Review

Jose L. Ramirez-GarciaLuna et al.

Summary: The article discusses the advancements and clinical applications of thermal measurement technologies, particularly focusing on thermographic imaging in wound care, surgery, and sports medicine. The use of thermographic imaging for inflammation-based and perfusion-based scenarios, which rely on local temperature measurements, is identified. The adoption of thermography could be enhanced through larger studies supporting its clinical utility.

Relationship between Skin Temperature Variation and Muscle Damage Markers after a Marathon Performed in a Hot Environmental Condition

Daniel Rojas-Valverde et al.

Summary: The study examined the effects of running a marathon in a hot environment on skin temperature (Tsk) and muscle damage markers. The results showed that Tsk increased significantly the day after the marathon, but there was no relationship between Tsk and muscle damage markers.
