The interlayer reduced non-radiative recombination and enhanced charge extraction, leading to improved device performance. The authors achieved a respectable power conversion efficiency of 24.8% in a four-terminal all-perovskite tandem solar cell with the use of the novel interlayer.

Realization of 18.97% theoretical efficiency of 0.9 μm thick c-Si/ZnO heterojunction ultrathin-film solar cells via surface plasmon resonance enhancement

Summary: In this work, the performance of c-Si/ZnO heterojunction ultrathin-film solar cells is enhanced by an integrated structure of c-Si trapezoidal pyramids on the top and Al pyramids in the active layer. The top c-Si pyramid increases absorption of short wavelengths and the bottom Al pyramid improves overall optical absorption, resulting in a high absorption rate of 93.16%. The optimized current density and conversion efficiency of the solar cells are 41.94 mA cm(-2) and 18.97%, respectively. The solar cells show good absorption in a wide range of incident angles and the electric field intensity profile demonstrates excellent light-trapping performance.

Conformal quantum dot-SnO2 layers as electron transporters for efficient perovskite solar cells

Design Simulation and Optimization of Germanium-Based Solar Cells with Micro-Nano Cross-Cone Absorption Structure

Summary: In this study, germanium-based solar cells were designed with cross-cone nanostructures as the absorber layer. The study focused on increasing the absorption efficiency of the germanium-based solar cell by enhancing the optical path inside the absorber layer through microstructure reflection. Simulations and calculations were conducted to analyze the reflectivity, transmittance, electric field, and magnetic field of the device. The results showed that the device had a high absorption rate within a broad wavelength range, and the optimized device achieved a photoelectric conversion efficiency of 10.3%, surpassing the performance of most Ge solar cells today.

The inverted ST-PSC saw an increased power conversion efficiency and maintained a high level of efficiency after storage in ambient atmosphere.

Monitoring the in situ photoluminescence allowed for easy identification of nucleation, crystal growth, and early perovskite formation phases for a range of concentrations. Subsequently, opaque and semitransparent solar cells were fabricated with optically clear perovskite films formed from precursors with varying concentrations, achieving high average visible transmittance and power conversion efficiencies.
