Novel one-dimensional V3S4@NC nanofibers for sodium-ion batteries

Zan Huang et al.

Summary: In this study, a facile electrospinning method was used to fabricate novel one-dimensional V3S4@NC nanofibers as anodes for sodium-ion batteries. The composite consists of monoclinic-structured V3S4 nano-crystals uniformly embedded in one-dimensional carbon fibers with high electrical conductivity. Electrochemical tests showed that the V3S4@NC anode exhibited excellent rate capability and cyclic life due to its superior electron transfer conductivity. It demonstrated high reversible capacities of 455, 343, 307, and 249 mAh g-1 at 0.1, 1, 2, and 5 A g-1, respectively, and retained 96.5% capacity at 10 A g-1 after 300 cycles. This promising strategy provides a new direction for high-performance V3S4 anodes in sodium-ion storage.

Mixed Solvent Engineering for Morphology Optimization of the Electron Transport Layer in Perovskite Photovoltaics

SungWon Cho et al.

Summary: Morphology optimization of the electron transport layer (ETL) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) through solvent engineering using a mixed solvent system has been shown to improve device efficiency by enhancing the interaction at the perovskite/ETL interface, leading to efficient charge transfer and reduced carrier recombination. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) in PSCs has been increased from 17.2% to 18.46% with the introduction of a mixed solvent system for ETL, demonstrating the potential of this approach for high-performance PSCs.

Surface Passivation and Energetic Modification Suppress Nonradiative Recombination in Perovskite Solar Cells

Wei Dong et al.

Summary: Surface passivation via post-treatment is an important strategy for improving power conversion efficiency and operational stability of perovskite solar cells. In this study, the atomic-scale interaction between the surface passivating additive 2FEABr and MAPbI(3) is investigated. It is found that the bulky 2FEA(+) cations distribute at the film surface, while the Br- anions diffuse into the bulk. The solid-state NMR and spectroscopy analysis reveal that the Br- anions partially substitute for the I- sites, restrict the motion of partial MA(+) cations, and firm the perovskite lattices, leading to improved charge transport and stability.

Ink Engineering in Blade-Coating Large-Area Perovskite Solar Cells

Jinxin Yang et al.

Summary: Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells (PSCs) show great potential in industrial commercialization, but efficiency and stability decrease when scaling up the device area. Blade-coating methods have been developed to fabricate large-area PSCs with uniform perovskite films. Ink engineering plays an important role in blade-coating, especially for crystallinity and defect control. This review summarizes the blade-coating method for large-area perovskite films, perovskite ink engineering, and recent advances in functional layer ink engineering and hole transporting material-free carbon-based PSCs.

Stability and degradation in triple cation and methyl ammonium lead iodide perovskite solar cells mediated via Au and Ag electrodes

Kakaraparthi Kranthiraja et al.

Summary: Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) based on methyl ammonium lead iodide (MAPbI(3)) have shown high power conversion efficiencies (PCEs), but their long-term stability remains a challenge. This study analyzes the impact of different electrode collector layers on the degradation mechanism of the perovskite absorber, and finds that PSCs with Au electrodes outperform those with Ag electrodes in terms of PCE and operational stability. Photoluminescence spectroscopy reveals the interaction between Ag and the absorber, leading to degradation, while Au does not suppress the emission spectrum. These findings are important for the design of new electrode materials and the commercialization of PSCs.
